Mick Fanning, actual campeón del ASP World Tour, se ha proclamado ayer vecedor, por segundo año consecutivo, del Quiksilver Pro France antes el 9 veces campeón del ASP World Tour Kelly Slater.

“Fue dificil”, dijo Fanning. “Kelly (Slater) y yo estuvimos hablando ahí fuera sobre quien estaba tratando de conseguir el spot. Sólo había mucha agua en movimiento y una super competición.”, comentaba Mick Fanning después de la final.

El bombeo de tubos de ayer en el Quiksilver Pro France 2010 originó para hoy unas inconsistentes olas de 1 metro llevando a los organizadores a tener que cancelar los Heat’s pendientes del día de hoy.

Kelly Slater, el nueve veces campeón del ASP World Tour y actual número 1 de este año, consiguió clasificarse para 3ª Ronda tras derrotar a Maxime Huscenot (FRA), 18, que entró en el evento con una Wildcard. Kelly obtuvo una putuación de 10.00 sobre los 7.40 de Maxime.

Otro tema a destacar es la eliminación del actual Nº 6 del ASP World toru Bede Durbidge (AUS), 27,  por parte de Julian Wilson (AUS), 21, otro surfer que entro en el Quiksilver Pro France 2010 con una wildcard.
